K2 Concert

The day is finally here. One of the main reasons why I am placed in Pat's Schoolhouse. And it is because of this K2 concert which is so amazing that some parents, mine included, will try so hard to put their children in this child care.

Unlike Gor Gor's concert which was held in Jubilee Hall at Raffles Hotel, our K2 concert is unfortunately held at ACJC auditorium because Jubilee Hall is currently under renovation. It is not as grand as Jubilee Hall and the holding area was also very small. As usual, they place the photos outside the auditorium so that parents can place their orders. Daddy was perspiring so much cos he had a jacket on and he decided he will order during intermission.

We started with the chinese performance in which i played a palace maid. All i did was to stand around in the background holding some banner. At one point, the five of us palace maids started dancing with our fans. It was beautiful I think.

The english performance was the highlight and we played out Charlie and Chocolate Factory. I played the main role of Mr Wonka and Mummy and Daddy said i nailed it. I looked so comfortable on stage and was filled with confidence as I read out my lines so clearly and my actions were so precise. Daddy and Mummy were beaming with pride as they looked at me from where they were seated.

After the performance, we decided to head to the roti prata store at Evans Road where we had Milo Dinosaur and roti prata. It was a fulfilling night as all the preparation for the concert paid off.

Dental Checkup

We found out that there is a more affordable option for our dental checkups and that is with the Polyclinics! Mummy made appointments for both Gor Gor and me to see the dentist to clean and also to fill any cavities. Daddy dropped us all off at the Toa Payoh Polyclinic at Lorong 8 today before heading to work.

Turned out it wasn't that bad an experience and I even got to wear a pair of Mickey Mouse glasses to protect my eyes during the clean up. Plus I got to stand next to Gor Gor to see how his set of teeth were cleaned and his cavities filled up. Mummy was telling Daddy that maybe she and Daddy should also go there for their annual dental checkup and save some money.

K2 Confidence Camp

This is a special day for us at Pat's Schoolhouse as we prepared for our K2 Confidence Camp. This is the camp I have been looking forward to as it will be my first time away from home with non family members. Staying over at Ah Mah's or Nai Nai's house is not considered.

We were suppose to report to school at 2.30pm today. As Mummy and Daddy has to be at work, we had no choice but to activate Aunty Jessica and she got to our place at 8am. She was then suppose to bring me to school at 2.30pm. I was lamenting that since Daddy has shifted and his office is now nearer home, why can't he come get me and send me to school. In the end, Daddy really did come back for me, I think not because his office is near, but rather because he wanted to send me and make sure I will be ok.

We had a terrific time in school and we even had a real camp fire at the playground. We sang songs and played games and I had a wonderful time.

The next day, Mummy and Daddy came to get me at 9.30am and I was sad to leave. I had lots of fun though and wish I could do this again.

To Master, To Grow, To Serve

Yes! MGS here I come!

Balloting under Phase 2B <1km was scheduled for today. 32 applicants vying for 31 spaces in MGS. We got to MGS this morning around 9.15am for the balloting which starts at 9.30am. The atmosphere was very tensed as the parents sat very seriously in the classroom, waiting for the balloting to start. Instructions and the whole process was read out carefully at 9.30am sharp in case there are any disputes later.

We were assigned the number 8 which under normal circumstances will be a good sign. However, we had prayed very hard for this and was not gonna rely on some lucky number to get us to MGS. We were nonetheless happy that the number was on our side.

We were fortunate that our number was called halfway through the process and a heavy sigh of relief was felt between Mummy and Daddy. Daddy later said that he somehow felt that his job is now complete as our moves had all been worth it. We felt bad for that one family who was not successful in getting their daughter into MGS. Not sure if they are gonna try under Phase 2C but we reckon it won't be a walk in the park under Phase 2C either.

We are all thankful that our space in MGS is now secured. Even Nai Nai couldn't sleep last night as she was worried I might not get a space here and about what we would have to do next. I am looking forward to life in MGS as I have many friends there already, even WeiEn is there and she will probably show me around.

Racial Harmony Day

We celebrated Racial Harmony Day today in school. The children were encouraged to wear a different costume to school to celebrate the different race within our school. I don on a baju kurung which was given to me by Aunty Sharon which belonged to Jie Jie Sophy. A baju kurung is a traditional Malay costume which loosely translate as "enclosed dress".

Besides putting on a different traditional costume, we were also asked to bring something for our snacks and I was tasked with bringing soya bean drink which Daddy happened to know how to make. He spent about an hour last night making the drink which was very delicious. We finished it all in class.

Primary One Registration

I have reached another milestone in my life today as I had to register for Primary One in 2018. Mummy and Daddy think that MGS will be a good school for me as it is not so academically focused, instead they spend more time developing other aspects of our growing up years. As such, we have moved into Maplewoods which is right next to MGS, and together with Daddy's existing membership in Christ Methodist Church, we were able to register under Phase 2B 1km. We know it won't be easy even with these advantages as MGS is a very popular school.

Registration started yesterday but as Mummy was still in KL, Daddy decided to wait till she is back today to register together. They brought me to MGS to have a feel of the school while they registered my application. We found out that under Phase 2B, there are only 31 spaces available and already 28 have applied for a space. We were the 29th and if there are more than 2 after us, then balloting is imminent.

Unfortunately, we found out at today's closing that there were 32 who applied under Phase 2B >1km, which means we will need to proceed with balloting for a spot. Daddy was rather disappointed as we are now exposed to some uncertainties even though there is only a 1 in 32 chance that we might not get a spot. Mummy was more calm and feels that we will get a spot, with God's blessings.

We will have to wait till Friday morning at 9.30 to find out if we will indeed have a spot in MGS next year. We are praying very hard. To be continued......

Hokkaido 2017

We returned to our favorite ski resort in Hokkaido with Godma and Godpa's families. This time we took a different route as we flew into KL and then into Shin Chitose. From Shin Chitose, we took a van and traveled about 2 hours before getting into Club Med Sahoro. It was a different approach as we managed to see some of the sights along the way to the resort. After spending 5 days and 4 nights at Club Med, we took a train from Shintoku to Chitose where we stayed 2 nights and visited Sapporo and Otaru. We had a wonderful time and as usual, we were not happy when we had to end our holiday and leave Japan. We are looking forward to ski season in 2018!
